My dog is really small, will he be safe?
A variety of different sized dogs are part of my crew, however they live with small dogs (under 10 lbs) and are accustomed to the little ones at their feet. Accidents do happen though so I cannot say with 100% certainty no harm will be done. If anything were to happen, you are notified immediately, no matter how minor it may be.

We start with coffee (just me that is), morning relief and BREAKFAST! After about an and hour and a half, once food has settled, one of the 3 things take place; Play time in the yard making new friends, tug-o-war, sunbathing, chasing and general socializing. A trip to a dog park trip or a fun walk in the neighborhood (if waiver is signed) occurs usually in the late am or mid to late afternoon. Outdoor in the yard where they are free to go wherever. After a dog does their business, it is immediately picked up, every time and disposed of away from the dogs.
What do I need to bring with me for Max's sleepover?
Food and leash, I provide the rest! Harlow&Friends has fleece beds, toys, food, water bowls and lots of love! Comforts from home are always welcome as are their favorite treats! Please check out the "Doggie Checklist" on the forms page to see additional items you can bring.
How many dogs do you have per day?
I only take up to 5 dogs for boarding. I have my own crew of 3 and feel anymore would lead to less personalized care for your pet.
Harlow&Friends motto is “Just like home.”
What happens if my pet becomes sick or injured?
If not life threatening, I will contact you immediately. I will assess the situation and then contact your pet’s veterinarian (or listed emergency contact if you are out of the country etc) and decide if the pet needs to be taken to your vet or not. I will take your pet to your vet if possible, if not, your pet will need to go to one of the emergency clinics. If a waiver was not signed to authorize emergency care, a phone call will be given to you and we will go from there. Communication is key!
Will my dog be in a crate at any time during the day of daycare/boarding?
If they are crated while you are gone, that will happen. If I feel the crew that is boarding at the time may not be the best to leave unsupervised, they will be sectioned off to avoid any confrontations. If you request to have them separated while I may have to leave my home for a period of time, that is okay too. We will go over any of these questions, concerns etc at the initial meeting since each and every situation is different.
What vaccinations does my dog need to have?
I require that puppies (8 weeks-16 weeks) have a second booster for bordetella and distemper. I require dogs over 6 months in age to be current on bordetella, rabies, and distemper. I will accept exemption waivers or titers if they are provided by your veterinarian.
When can I take a tour of your home?
Anytime that both of our schedules can accommodate. I would love for you and your pet to come visit and get a feel for what home at Harlow&Friends is like.
My dog doesn’t like other dogs; can he still come?
Yes, I just ask that you let me know so I can reserve a place for them that will ensure they are safe and feel secure.
What happens if a dog has fleas?
Fleas are not fun! I will let you know and have topical flea treatment available to give your pet if you allow. Flea baths are also a option if topical meds are not what you want for your pets.
Where does my dog sleep at night?
99% of my boarders sleep where they do at home. If they are crated while you are gone or asleep, that will happen. If they sleep wherever around the house, there are 3 bedrooms and a living room where they can choose to lay or be sectioned off to get a good night's rest.
